Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  • Rinse the strawberries thoroughly under cold water, then remove the stems and hulls. Slice the strawberries in half.
  • Place the sliced strawberries into a blender or food processor. Add a tablespoon of maple syrup, to enhance the sweetness. Adjust the amount based on your preference and the natural sweetness of the strawberries.
  • For a hint of tanginess, squeeze in a teaspoon of lemon juice. This step is optional but adds a refreshing element to the puree. Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. If needed, pause and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure all the strawberries are fully incorporated.
  • Taste the puree and adjust the sweetness or acidity if desired, adding more sweetener or lemon juice accordingly. If the consistency is too thick, you can thin the puree by adding a splash of water or fruit juice and blending again. Once the desired consistency has been reached, transfer the puree to an airtight jar and enjoy!

Notes

TO STORE: Transfer the puree to a clean and airtight container or jar with a secure lid. Place the container in the refrigerator and store for up to 3-4 days. It is important to ensure the container is tightly sealed to prevent any air exposure that can affect the freshness of the puree. Before using any leftover puree, give it a quick stir to redistribute any settled solids and ensure consistency.
TO FREEZE: If you want to extend the shelf life, you can also freeze the puree in freezer-safe containers or ice cube trays for up to 3 months. Thaw frozen strawberry puree in the refrigerator before use.
